Jennifer Ellis grew up in South Africa and has always been interested in wellbeing and living a healthy lifestyle, this and her love of contemporary dance and fitness led her to qualify as a dance teacher.
She has always been inspired by the sweeping intelligence and depth of yoga, even as she successfully worked her way up in a corporate environment, finding that it allowed her to find balance in this corporate world.
Wanting to share this with others Jennifer trained to become a yoga teacher and holds a 500HR Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from AOCY and continues to constantly hone her teaching skills and her practice.
Jennifer teaches with an open mind and in a neutral and natural way, she adheres to the principles of breath attention and awareness coupled with synchronised movement to create a challenging and stimulating practice. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace and listen to their bodies with the intention to strengthen, energise and calm the mind.
Jennifer regards yoga as accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical ability and age and encourages everyone to work at their own pace. Her class style is a dynamic vinyasa flow coupled with restorative yoga.
She believes that yoga is a personal experience where one’s practice is expanded and amplified through skilled alignment of dynamic flow and held poses. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace and listen to their bodies with the intention to strengthen, energize and calm the mind.
