A week well spent in Sardinia

blog.pngShay Grant recently got back from a week in Sardinia and here’s what she had to say…

‘The days start with a light breakfast and coffee before practice begins at 8. This gives us a chance to reflect on the previous day and discuss what we can expect from today’s practice.

Practice then begins out on the yoga deck, where you’re surrounded by sounds of the sea and the birds – it’s sheer bliss!

After finishing the practice with our savasana there’s some down time and then we reconvene at 11 for a delicious brunch. Over brunch we make plans for the day and it gives us all a chance to get to know one another and the teachers and their practice.

The day is yours to spend as you wish – some choose to be really social while others decide to be slightly more self-contained and reflective with their time. There is no pressure, we just want to make sure that everybody enjoys their time with us!

My ‘secret spot’ tip is the perfect place to while away a few hours in the morning after yoga and brunch – there’s a little bed that hides in the shade at the hotel, it has a great view of the sea and is an ideal spot to read a book and just take in the beautiful surroundings!

My favourite moment from this trip was a little picnic we had on the beach. A few of the guests went to the supermarket and got prosecco and nibbles – we were all so relaxed and by this point everyone considered each other friends so there was a LOT of laughter!

Our favourite spot for dinner had to be Hivaoa, great atmosphere,  great food – I recommend the swordfish, great cocktails and all at a good price!’

‘Oh make sure you remember all your toiletries and of course sunscreen! The supermarket is a bit of a walk, as at the start of the season the closest one is closed!’
