Stretching your way to a better night’s sleep…

There is absolutely nothing better after a long day than unwinding, both mentally and physically, and relieving ourselves from the stresses of everyday life.

Sometimes though we can struggle to leave behind the things that cause us tension and we end up carrying them straight up to bed with us.

Whether you’re in the rat race or on the school run it can be near impossible to find the time to fit in a whole hour of yoga or meditation but all you need is to spare yourself ten minutes or so before bed and practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation or yoga.

Spending just ten minutes a day fitting these few activities into your life will reduce those everyday stresses and allow you a better night’s sleep!

One of our amazing yoga teachers Federica Panichi has a great selection of resources over on her website – from books to read, to dvds to try out at home. You can find all her great tips here, or try heading over to YouTube and search for ‘restorative yoga’ and you’ll be able to find lots of great sequences to try.

So find the right sequence for you, roll out your mats, take a deep breath and stretch your way into a gentle, happier night’s sleep.
